An Irish Summer

An Irish Summer

Ireland is a stunningly beautiful country during the summer, the good weather breathes a new lease of life into the country and its people.
I’ve noticed that as Irish people, we have this funny little habit of not being able to sit still or sit inside when the weather is warm and the sun is high.
We often claim a sense of duty around the pleasant weather, that we must not let it go to waste. Sitting inside when the sky is blue feels criminal, a total waste!
An excited buzz takes over when Ireland experiences good weather, the pubs are packed,  people flock at the sight of an ice cream van, all roads to the beach are jammers with traffic and everyone is generally more upbeat and happy.
Certain spots are filled with happy campers soaking up the sunshine.
Whether going sea-swimming at the Vico Baths with your eyes peeled for celebs or Chimac for Aperol spritz slushies, you’re sure to fill your summer with wonderful memories in the city.
Why not have a relaxing break away at the salt caves in Balbriggan, a trip to the various free museums in Dublin, or get tickets to one of the many popular festivals throughout the country.
At its core, summer is about living in the moment and not thinking past September. It is a celebration of the present moment, appreciating that it is fleeting along with that warm summer breeze.
The abundance of sunlight lifts the spirits and encourages people to relish the wonderful natural environment we have in Ireland.
The impermanence of summer is profoundly felt in Ireland. Every year it weaves its way into our presence under our noses as the heavy cloud of winter dissipates.
When the moment finally comes, we seize it almost too eagerly, resulting in many scalded bright redheads walking the streets!
