As a frequent festival goer, I’m here to provide you with an extensive guide on how to prepare and what to expect from a huge festival like Electric Picnic. Ireland’s answer to Glastonbury, with 75,000 people set to attend.

Electric Picnic boasts an eclectic and diverse lineup that caters to a wide range of musical tastes. From rock and indie to electronic, hip-hop, folk, and beyond, you'll find world-renowned headliners, emerging artists, and everything in between. The festival features multiple stages and creative spaces, allowing you to explore different sounds throughout the weekend. 

The big headliners everyone is dying to see this weekend include Billie Eilish, Paolo Nutini and The Killers. Electric Picnic is not just a festival; it's a vibrant and diverse celebration of music, arts, culture, and community that takes place annually in Stradbally, County Laois, Ireland. 

It has become one of Ireland's most iconic and beloved festivals, drawing people from all over the world to its enchanting grounds.

Preparation 

When it comes to gearing up for festival season, proper preparation can make the world of difference and allow to make the absolute most of these memorable occasions. Let’s dive in. 

Electric Picnic offers a range of camping options, from basic tents to fancy glamping setups. Choose what suits your vibe and budget. Camping gear is a must: a cozy sleeping bag, a trusty tent, and maybe even an inflatable unicorn or fairy wings for those Insta-worthy snaps.

Because we are fortunate enough to be located in the beautiful Ireland, we must prepare for all weather occasions. Waterproof rain trousers and a poncho are essential, there’s nothing worse than being stuck in soggy clothes! 

Bring bin bags also, in case of water infiltrating your tent, you can put your clothes in here to keep them dry. Clingfilm also works a treat for your feet! Wrap around a layer over your socks, grab your wellies and you’re good to go. No cloud is going to rain on your parade! 

Make a checklist and check it twice. Don't forget:

  • Essentials: Tickets, ID, cash, and phone
  • Clothes: Layers for all weather scenarios and comfy PJs for downtime.
  • Toiletries: Toothbrush, wet wipes, and maybe some dry shampoo (for when the shower line is too long).
  • Gadgets: Portable charger - you don't want a dead phone during your fave band's set.
  • Festival Fashion: Flags, fun jewelry, totems, LED accessories - to stand out in the crowd. Go big or go home!
